What We Do

Since 1956, the Housing Equality Center of Pennsylvania has been working to ensure that all Pennsylvanians have equal access to the housing of their choice regardless of their race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, familial status, or disability. We assist housing professionals and consumers to understand their rights and responsibilities under fair housing laws and we help consumers to obtain redress when they experience housing discrimination.

Counseling-Inline

Counseling & Enforcement Support Services

We help people who have experienced housing discrimination understand their legal rights and offer guidance on navigating the formal complaint process. We also assist individuals to negotiate reasonable accommodations and modifications in housing, when necessary due to a disability.

Testing & Investigation Services

We conduct fair housing testing investigations to determine whether or not housing providers are complying with fair housing laws. We need fair housing testers to help investigate complaints of discrimination and uncover illegal housing practices.
